Roames World Menus

NAVIGATE HOME

The Home function is available as a "Home" icon in the top bar. 

Left clicking on the Home icon will navigate to the default start position. This can be done at any point.

NAVIGATION MODES

This is the default navigation mode.

●     Left mouse click and drag to pan around in Roames World

●     Mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out of the world terrain

●     Right mouse click and drag to tilt the camera and see the world from a 3D perspective.

Note: The eye altitude (see: bottom right corner of the application window) must be less than 325km in order to be able to tilt.

Walk mode allows you to walk around the world using the ‘W’, ‘A’, ‘S’ and ‘D’ keyboard keys to move (forwards, left, backwards, right) in combination with the mouse to look where you are going.

Note: You need be close to the terrain when you enter walk mode.

Fly around in Roames World, using the ‘W’, ‘A’, ‘S’, D’ keyboard keys to move and the mouse to look where you’re going.

TOOLS

Use this mode to measure the distance between two areas. You can select three different measurement options on the top panel:

	LINE: Measure distance between two anchor points.
	PATH: Measure distance between many anchor points
	POLYGON: Measure the perimeter and area of three or more enclosed anchor points
	CLEAR: Removes all anchor points

MODIFY: Resize the display bounds

You can change the measurement units from the drop-down menu, next to the measurement tools.

SCREENSHOT

Takes a screenshot of the screen either with or without the user interface. You can adjust this in the Settings Panel under the Screenshot tab.

Visualisations

  Select different imagery based on the client’s data.

 Note: Use the Custom imagery layer under the Dynamic Height Maps heading in combination with the Gradient Height Map Editor.

Access the various data layers to select the data you are interested in viewing and analysing. The Data Layers may include Network, Vegetation Zones, 3D Buildings and Conductor Clearance Risk.

OPTION PANELS

Displays a list of favourite locations that can be customised by the user.

	Creates a new grouping folder to organise your favourites.
	Save the current location as a new ‘favourite’. You can choose a custom name and icon and use the favourite to quickly access that location at any time.
	Edit the favourite’s name and icon

 Contains various options to modify and customise Roames World. 

LIGHTING CONTROLS

The lighting options are accessible from the top bar of the application.

	DEFAULT: Fully bright lighting.
	DIRECTIONAL: Repositions the sun based on the elevation and rotation options found in SETTINGS.
	TIME BASED: Used in conjunction with the Time Slider tool to display the realistic lighting specific to a time zone.

TIME SLIDER

The Time Slider enables you to move the view backwards and forward in time, and change the timezone to match the location you’re viewing.

Draw Tools

The Draw Tools are accessible from the top bar of the application.

	PLACEMARK: Places a point of reference marker.
	PATH: Draws a straight line between points creating a path.
	POLYGON: Creates a filled shape covering an area between 3 or more points.

USER INTERFACE

Roames World button allows you hide the toolbars and menus for a full-screen view of Roames World. Toggle between hiding and displaying the toolbars and menus.
